Ozzy Osbourne and Billy Morrison have released their new single and video, “Gods of Rock N Roll.” The track is an orchestral reinterpretation of Morrison’s song “Gods” from the 2015 album God Shaped Hole, and also features guitarist Steve Stevens. The song – which was co-written by Osbourne and Morrison in a South American hotel room a decade ago – is already climbing Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay chart despite only being released on Friday (February 14th). “This re-recorded version of the song finally has all the bells and whistles,” Osbourne said. “I told Billy then that it needed an orchestra and a choir, but it took 10 f**king years for him to listen to me.” Their new collaboration is set to appear on the deluxe edition of Morrison’s 2024 album, The Morrison Project, which is due out on February 21. Osbourne is gearing up for his final performance with Black Sabbath on July 5 in Birmingham, England, alongside Metallica, Slayer, and other metal titans. (Consequence of Sound)
